About Us

Blackpool Tiggers started in 2004 as a trampolining group for 8 children on the autistic spectrum. It has expanded to offer services for more than 100 local families affected by Autism and has inspired groups in Rossendale, Preston, Lancaster, Fleetwood and Bolton.
Tigger groups are self managed with support from the committee and volunteers. In Blackpool there is now Trampolining, Martial Arts, Music Tiggers and an extensive holiday activity programme, including weekends away.
The group is managed by a parent led committee and staffed by volunteers, all of who are vetted and given training using our own custom designed courses and sponsored to gain externally recognised qualifications.
In July 2010 we are very excited about moving to St Annes Road, Blackpool and this space acts as our administrative headquarters, a resource centre for parents and families and a meeting place.
We are a registered charity.
My Town Tiggers
Blackpool Tiggers owns the Community Interest Company, MyTownTiggers. This is a Social Enterprise in Health. Anyone wanting to begin a Tiggers group in their local area will receive an enthusiastic welcome and support from us including advice on funding, volunteers, training, activities etc. We are also able to offer trampolining and training services. Please note these services are provided at commercial rates and all surplus's are fed back into the community.

Project Co-ordinator
We have a new Project Co-Ordinator at the office. Sheila brings extensive experience as a manager and trainer in both the public and private sector but also has great understanding and knowledge of developmental disorder as the parent of Thomas, one of our Tiggers. Having already served as a volunteer making a massive impact on fund raising this year and also a brief period on the committee prior to taking up the post, Sheila has hit the ground running. She needs help in a variety of roles and is keen to hear from anyone who has a bit of time who may be able to help. Some tasks can be done at home and I.T. skills are not always necessary. Please don't hesitate to get in touch and help her out.
Communication System and Infrastructure
Goetz R. Schultz IEng, MBCS CITP, CCA I.T., Communication Systems and Infrastructure Blackpool Tiggers. Goetz designed, implemented, refines and supports the Unix based I.T.
infrastructure that allows isolated parents and volunteers to contribute from their home, tap into Tigger resources and be part of the Tigger community. He ensures all the office sytems run smoothly and advises on good practice with a particular interest in system security, given the vulnerable nature of our children and the importance of keeping data safe and secure.
