Aims and Objectives of Blackpool Tiggers

To provide children on the autistic spectrum and their siblings the opportunity to regularly trampoline in an Autism friendly environment.

The activity facilitates physical exercise, improves co-ordination, encourages appropriate social inter-action and recognises achievements significant to autistic spectrum disorders.

Secondary objectives include:-

a) To encourage, develop and promote sport, recreation, leisure and social integration opportunities for disabled children, young adults and their carers, with the emphasis on Autism.
b) To improve and develop disability awareness in the community, promoting social inclusion.
c) To provide parents of autistic children and young adults the opportunity for mutual support, promoting family inclusion.
d) To provide a good  volunteering experience for those who become involved.
e) To encourage other groups to become established across the region and nationally.

Eileen

Eileen Baines B.A. - Grandmother of Tigger Luis, Eileen is a retired research administrator from Manchester University and is Treasurer of Blackpool Tiggers and MyTownTiggers

Susan

Susan O'Malley - Sue holds a PhD and is a qualified clinical Psychologist. She is a Senior Civil Servant living in Blackpool

Paul

Paul Tomlinson - Paul is the father of Tigger Eliot and sibling Lewis, who has Downs. Paul is a trustee of a Downs Syndrome Charity, is a part qualified accountant and lives in Thornton with Emma.

Lesley

Lesley Isbister Les is a qualified solicitor who works in child protection and lives in Lancashire

Andrew

Andrew Kluge - Andrew is an entrepreneur in the baby products market based in Bolton and was the first sponsor of Blackpool Tiggers

Debra

Debra Bookbinder is the mum of two boys with ASD, is a qualified trampoline coach and rebound therapist. She founded Tiggers so that her son could continue to bounce. She also has a B.A (Hons), M.A. in Management Learning and M.Phil in Critical Management and had a corporate career, spanning public and private sector (including her own training business) prior to becoming a full time carer.
