The event was organised by My Town Tiggers. It included the findings of a recent research project into provision for young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders on the Fylde. Local MP Gordon Marsden, who has a particular interest in autism and aspergers provision, detailed current government initiatives. A partnership between the parent led company My Town Tiggers, and the Complex Difficulties Team at Blackpool Council resulted in an excellent event (which was sold out!) and places Blackpool on the map as a growing source of expertise in autism beyond Education. Planning has already started on next year's conference. Prof Rita Jordan is Emeritus Professor of Autism Centre for Education & Research University of Birmingham.
Dr Olga Bagdashina is a parent and Consultant Psychologist and Lecturer in Sensory Issues.
