WINTER EVENT PROGRAMME, Trampoline Xmas Party brought forward to 10th Dec at Stanley Park

More detail than the Xmas list

Click here to read the programme

* The Xmas Party Session will be *this* Sunday (10th) instead of next week. Reason being that the Sports Centre have an inspection of the trampolines on Monday and if they need attention we may not be able to bounce on the 17th when we had planned the Xmas session.

The bouncing may be slightly shorter on time because we are trying to allow all members to come, but the session will be free so you won't be short changed. There will be a Santa in the sensory room and a present for all the bouncers.

* January 17th. If this session is cancelled due to non availability of trampolines, you will be alerted by txt. Please ensure we have your current mobile number. Details will also be on the website.

We only found out about the trampoline inspection on Thursday so it's been rather a dash to get the party brought forward by a week.

Xmas Party and Auction of Men Photos and Committee Meeting date

We need to thank loads of people for their help with the Auction of Men. Also, Malcolm did the food for more than 80 people, with plenty for everyone and didn't charge much!

All the volunteers worked really hard to make it a fun and successful evening. We had some young adults who had a great time too, so that's a success before any fund raising is taken into account. On top of that if all the pledges come through we will have raised more than £800!

The Motown Singer, Aiden, has agreed to do a private performance evening, exclusive to Tiggers for anyone paying £5. It will be sometime in March. We have lots of pledges for this event already!

The committee meeting is moved from Dec 4th to 11th this month.

Volunteer Update 8th September 2006

It appears we have NOT won a reprieve on Mark Capstick’s post and were right to be concerned about complacency. David Lund, Head of Children’s Services is trying to suggest that ‘ensuring continued provision’ means the same thing as ‘reprieving the post pending a review’. Discussions are ongoing with local councillors and MP’s Joan Humble and Gordon Marsden are aware of David’s action.

Sessions

4. £750 from the Masons. Thanks to Dave Rust putting us forward the Masons have donated £750. Details in this Tuesday’s Gazette (Eve section)

5. Bikini Car Wash. This superb event raised more than £100. Thanks to all volunteers who got in a lather for us.

6. Xmas Cards. As requested earlier than last year, good quality card Xmas Cards designed by our Tiggers are now available 24 for £5. All proceeds to Tiggers.

Activities and Events

7. Summer Programme. This was an outstanding success and was only possible by the contribution of many volunteers being willing to undertake responsibility as Project Champions and helping each other. Without this the children would have had an extremely long summer with nowhere to go and nothing to do other than their bounce on a Sunday. Well done everyone!

8. Annual Fun Day Sunday September 3rd. The Mayor visited and made awards to Project Champions. This year as well as the trampolining, soft play, bouncy castle and a bookstall provided by the NAS, we also had soft squash, and the morning including an opportunity to try climbing, both of which were very popular. We also had refreshments, face painting and a constant queue for Dave’s massage! A massive thanks to everyone who made it such a great day.

9.Committee Meetings are open to all Tigger Members (this means PARENTS TOO!). Held 21 Windermere Road, South Shore. FY4 2BX, usually the first Monday of the month @ 5:30pm . To put it on the same evening as ‘Friends of Blackpool Tiggers’ Sept 18th is the next one.

10. Committee Changes. Carol Gradwell, parent rep has moved to Preston and resigned, we have a vacancy for a parent rep on the committee. Philippa Kelsey has started university and resigned. If a volunteer is interested in serving on the committee, please speak with Debra. Hannah White is concentrating on coaching and Matty Drake is now the volunteer rep. Callum Bookbinder has been accepted as our volunteer mascot.

Volunteers

11. Welcome to new volunteers:- Kerri Anne Fleetwood, Lucy White, George Michael, Siobhan, April Newman, Laura

12. Congratulations to the following volunteers who have passed probation:-

Dinesh Alexander, Matthew Drake, Joanne McDonnell, Yvette Schultz, Kayleigh Molyneux, Charlotte Beenham, Sarah Lynagh, Phil Dutton, Alex Walkden.

13. CRB’s sent to you, ARE NOT sent to Tiggers HQ. If you have received one we need to see the original, make a certified copy, and return the original to you. You cannot pass probation without providing your CRB.

14. Tigger Tops. We are aware many of you are waiting on tops, which have been ordered and should be ready for next Sunday’s session, September 17th.

15. Next Volunteer Meeting. The volunteer meeting for October is on the 8th due to their being no session on the 1st.

16. If you are 14 – 25 and have not registered with Sport England or Millenium to get your volunteering recognised and get help with travel and training costs, please request a sign up form today.

17. If you have anything you need that won’t wait until October, speak to Matty Drake, your new volunteer rep.
